In today’s post we discuss the recent Foo Fighters concert and explain why it is so important to keep going no matter how difficult the process of selling your insurance agency gets.

insurance-agency-planningDave Grohl has proven just how dedicated he is to his fans. During the Foo Fighters concert in Gothenburg, Sweden on June 12, the front man lost his footing while singing the second song of the night and went flying off the edge of the stage onto the floor below, resulting in a broken leg. However, he kept his composure and calmly explained to the crowd that he would need to go backstage to seek medical attention but that drummer Taylor Hawkins would take over as lead singer and that he would return soon. Staying true to his word, he arrived back on stage a short time later with his leg bandaged and he sang and played his guitar while sitting on a chair.

Fans praised him on social media for his commitment to them using the hashtag #MyHero, a reference to one of Foo Fighter’s famous songs. Unfortunately, under doctor’s orders, the band was forced to cancel all their future concerts in Europe after Dave Grohl had his surgery. This includes the highly anticipated Glastonbury Festival on June 26, which has left fans disappointed but they have sent him their well wishes for a speedy recovery.

Foo Fighters are not the only musicians to sustain injuries during live performances recently. Just last month U2 guitarist, the Edge fell off the stage while performing at their Innocence and Experience concert in Vancouver and hurt his arm. Nevertheless, the band kept playing and the Edge was able to continue with the rest of the world tour. Also, Madonna took a nasty fall while performing at the Brit Awards in London in February, but despite hitting her head and suffering whiplash, she was able to continue singing for the crowd.

While the actions of these celebrities may seem remarkable to some, especially when you consider the huge number of fake sick days that employees take every year, as a businessman it is easy to see why they put their feelings aside and put their fans first. As everyone knows, customers will not accept any excuses for poor service or long delays in receiving their products, even if it is due to illness or injury. This is why perseverance is considered to be such an important trait in the business world and it always pays off in the end.

It is also necessary to persevere during the sometimes long and difficult process of selling your insurance agency. There is a lot of work and long hours involved in preparing your agency for sale. Negotiating with the potential buyer on price and making sure that he or she is a suitable match for the company can be an arduous process, but no matter how tough it gets it will be worth it in the end. The hardest part of any transaction is the inevitable emotional toll that the process takes on the seller.

Most sellers are emotional for many reasons. Many see the sale as the end of an era rather than the beginning of a new one. Many sellers have never worked for someone else or within a corporate environment. The single largest reason that sales become emotional is that many, many, many sellers fear change. We all know that change will occur but we seem to try to delay the inevitable. We wish we had an answer for this problem. We see many owners that have delayed a sale for no apparent reason. In those cases, we try to be patient until the owner accepts the need to sell. At Sukay & Associates, we understand the toll that this process can take on owners, but we can assure you that with our knowledge and expertise you will reap the rewards and leave your agency without having any regrets.
