Life is full of hard decisions. It’s what makes it interesting. I often look back at my life and think what would have happened if I went the other way, if I chose the other path. I’ve always tried to follow the mantra of making it hard for myself. Throwing oneself into the abyss is sometimes the best way to live. Trust your instincts and stay away from the safe route for the chance of bigger gains.
When I was younger, I did just that. I had a safe and comfortable job and life in my small hometown, but it never felt completely right. I never felt as if I were fulfilling my full potential. At the behest of my family and friends, I moved out to greater my horizons. That was the first step in my new life. What followed was greater than anything that could’ve happened where I came from. It was a good choice and I’ll always stand by it.
It is completely the same in business as it is in life. When you know you’re getting caught, the best thing to do is fly. Of course, that’s not to say to run away, but move in a new direction. Refresh your purpose and goals. Lose some of the weight you’re carrying and find a new avenue. The businessperson in you would want you to take those steps. There is nothing that kills a business faster than sitting and doing nothing.
The selling of your agency is always a tough decision. It has been with you and has served you well. It has been your companion throughout a large part of your life. You can’t just sell it off to the highest bidder, you need to hand it over personally. It can give you the perfect launching point for new ventures and lifestyles. You could achieve the ultimate feeling of letting go and being ready for new destinations in your life.
