Preserving a Legacy

I was thinking about how we always struggle to explain what we do to our friends and I was thinking about an old story that many of us have heard over the years. 

It is a story of two men in Medieval Italy that are working chipping marble in a courtyard. A Priest walks across the courtyard and asks the first man, “What are you doing?”  The first man says, “I am chipping stone!” He then asks the second man the same question and his response was, “I am building a cathedral. They were 2 men doing the same job but one was chipping stone and the other was building a cathedral. 

I was thinking about what we have done for our clients over the years and was remembering that many of them, past and present, have trusted us to help them perpetuate their businesses.  When we tell people that is what we do they look at us funny and ask what that entailed. So, I sat back and thought about and I see our competition out there and think to myself how are we different and I think the above story tells it all.  I think if that priest were to ask me what I am doing my answer would be, I am Preserving a Legacy.
